Know who the Creator is

The Creator is the account that founded the event. The creator has full management access and remains the event's protected founder even when their displayed role says Host.

Understand Host access

A Host can edit event details and settings, invite and remove people, change eligible members' roles, manage planning tools, and cancel or delete the event. Give Host access only to someone trusted with the whole event.

Switch your own creator label

If you created the event, open your own actions in the People view and choose Change role. You can switch between Creator and Host; this changes the label people see, not who founded the event or what you can manage.

Add another Host

A Creator or Host can open an eligible person's actions and change that person to Host. The new Host receives full management access but does not become the event's Creator.

Keep the creator protected

The Creator cannot leave the event, be removed, or switch to Organizer or Participant. Hostly does not currently provide a separate creator-transfer action.
