People and event permissions
Understand hosts, guests, and the controls available when managing people inside an event.
Understand event roles
Hosts are responsible for the event and its settings. Guests participate using the invitation, planning, and conversation permissions enabled for that event, so not every participant will see the same management actions.
Read the people view
The people view separates hosts from guest responses such as Going, Maybe, Declined, and Pending. This gives hosts a practical attendance picture without treating an unanswered invitation as a confirmed guest.
Open a person's actions
Select someone in the event to see actions available to your role and relationship. A guest may only be able to view shared profile context, while a host may also see role or access controls.
Promote or manage a host
Where supported, an existing host can give another trusted participant host responsibilities. Because hosts can change the event and manage people, use that role only for collaborators who should share ownership of the plan.
Remove access
Hosts can remove a participant when the event controls allow it. Removing someone affects their event access; it is separate from unfriending or blocking them across Hostly.
Manage added guests
Some invitations let a participant include someone on their behalf. The event identifies those added guests so hosts can understand attendance and use the management actions available for that guest type.
